Kerry Lear
Kerry originally came to our firm as a law clerk in May of 2007 while she was a law student. She worked with us in that capacity, assisting the attorneys in family law, estate planning, and employment law matters, until her graduation in May 2008.
In February 2010 we were pleased to have Kerry join us as a family law attorney. Kerry takes the time to listen to and work closely with her clients to help them understand and handle the legal challenges they encounter during what is often a very emotionally trying time. Working with both traditional and non-traditional families has allowed Kerry to become knowledgeable about how family law in Oregon applies to all different types of family structures.
Before joining Beth Allen Law PC, Kerry volunteered at the Family Law Assistance Program in the Washington County Courthouse where she assisted people who were representing themselves in family law matters as they navigated through the court system. She has also worked with the Lewis and Clark Legal Clinic to provide legal help to low income clients with family law and landlord/tenant issues.
Kerry grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She earned her BA from Columbia University and her JD from Lewis and Clark Law School. She was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2008 and to the U.S. District Court, District of Oregon in 2010. While it was the landscape and the mild climate originally drew her out here, she quickly came to love many things about her adopted city of Portland. She and her partner enjoy rock climbing, hiking, exploring the city’s many coffeeshops, and spoiling their Miniature Schnauzer.
